PECO’s engineers have extensive experience performing inspections. Qualified field engineers are available to perform off-line internal system inspections on all types of ESP’s. This type of service can be used as predictive maintenance or during an outage to identify areas requiring immediate repair. In addition to the internal collection & discharge components, an inspection will also include structural aspects, and thermal insulation & casing. In many instances, areas of flue gas maldistribution can also be identified during an inspection.
PECO’s field engineers have an in-depth understanding of the methods required for successful precipitator construction projects. This knowledge has been earned on dozens of major installations during our own projects. Our personnel can also be utilized on outside projects for ESP maintenance or upgrades.
The experience of our field engineers can also be called upon to assist with troubleshooting the operation of existing ESP’s. Improvements can often be made to system performance by varying the settings of the voltage controls & rapping sequences.
PECO’s experienced staff can assist ESP users with various aspects of design & operation. We have expertise in the area of ESP sizing and layout which can be critical in the success of a given application. We can also perform third party composition and/or evaluation of performance & construction specifications. Our knowledge is also useful when performance guarantee points are being established. PECO can determine expected levels of overall system performance based on equipment specifications and site conditions.
We perform our own ESP performance modeling based on flue gas characteristics and precipitator arrangement. This work is accomplished through the use of the best modeling programs and our in-depth understanding of the process. Performance modeling gives PECO the ability to evaluate different ESP configurations prior to real-world implementation. Fuel evaluations can also be accomplished in this process.
